Boston Test Prep and Audible Launch Digital Audio Editions of SAT Test Prep
"BTP TO GO" is a Portable SAT Test Prep that can be Downloaded Into Digital Audio Devices So Students Can Study On-The-Go
BOSTON, MA and WAYNE, NJ-15 August, 2005 -More than 1.4 million college bound high school students worldwide take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) annually. This year, students can prepare for the exam with a test prep that better fits their busy lifestyles.
Today, Boston Test Prep (BTP), a leader in online SAT Prep and Audible (NASDAQ: ADBL), the Internet's leading digital spoken audio information and entertainment source, announced the launch of "BTP To Go," the only one-of-it's-kind audible SAT test prep course that can be downloaded into over 160 AudibleReady® digital audio players, such as iPods, PDA's, smart phones and other listening devices. The audio format allows students the freedom to prepare for the SAT at their own pace, shifting their studying time to better manage their hectic schedules. Studying on the students' own terms can also alleviate much of the stress caused by an SAT prep course held in a traditional classroom setting.
"BTP To Go provides students the opportunity to prep for the SAT exam at their convenience," said Ben Carcio, general manager, Boston Test Prep. "With BTP To Go, students don't need to carry around the heavy SAT Prep books or be tied to a computer, they just need an AudibleReady® device and they're ready to go. And Audible is the perfect partner to provide new and innovative educational services to high school students."
"Audible has always sought new ways to deliver resources and innovative technology to improve learning," said Beth Anderson, Audible's senior vice president and publisher. "Our partnership with Boston Test Prep shows that spoken audio not only augments both print and online materials, it also can create a personalized, on-demand learning experience, dictated by the student."
Estimates show approximately 50 percent of all secondary schools offer programs to prepare students for the SAT. Access to preparation programs is more critical than ever for students today given the College Board's new SAT. This test is 45 minutes longer than the previous version and features challenging and controversial new sections such as a handwritten essay. The next exam is October 8, 2005.
The "BTP To Go" narrated test prep is divided into three program sections: An SAT Introduction, Reducing SAT Anxiety and Writing an SAT Essay. Each of the sections helps students familiarize themselves with the test questions, strategies and test taking tips to help increase a student's scores and alleviate any fears and anxiety.
The Writing an Essay Section focuses on the newest and most feared section of the SAT Test. The "BTP To Go" talks students through the process of writing an SAT essay and reviews techniques to ensure an organized and cohesive essay.
Students can listen to the SAT test prep on personal computers, CD-ROMs, iPods and AudibleReady® MP3 players, personal digital assistants, and smart wireless devices.
Interested students can access the BTP To Go on the BTP website at http://sat.bostontestprep.com. The base price is $19.95.
