Over the last few months we’ve received all sorts of questions about the SAT and BTP. And we’ve learned that if you have a question about something, the odds are high that many other people have the same question. So for all of you who never asked us - here are the answers to the 5 more frequently asked SAT questions.

  1. What is the SAT?
  2. Does Boston Test Prep give the SAT?
  3. How do I register for the SAT?

1. What is the SAT?

The SAT is a standardized college-placement test designed to test your critical thinking skills and your ability to solve problems. Specifically, the SAT tests your skills in three general areas – Math, Critical Reading, and Writing.

Many colleges require applicants to achieve a minimum score on the SAT. Check the admissions requirements for the schools you are applying to find out what goal you should set for yourself.

The SAT is designed and administered by the College Board (we’ll tell you about them in a minute) and is usually taken by high school juniors and seniors. It’s given 7 times a year, so there’s always one just around the corner.
